2021 Contest Winners

Join us in congratulating these three first-place winners in the Kids Arts Festival poster contest sponsored by Nancy Bell in memory of Eli Taub and the Schenectady County Public Library. The contest theme was Happiness.

The winner in our pre-K to Kindergarten division in the poster contest is 5-year-old Amarah Egnisaban. She attends TOAST (short for the Thomas O’Brien Academy of Science and Technology) in Albany. Amarah said she was so happy to be at Kids Arts Festival and she just drew how she felt. (AWWW, That just makes our whole year!)

Connor Frank is a third-grader from Glenmont Elementary School. Connor won his age division in the poster contest for our 27th annual festival. The artwork was judged on how well “happiness” was portrayed. Upon hearing he won Connor told us “Baseball makes me happy because it’s fun to play games and hit the ball and I was thinking about hitting a home run when I drew it.”

The winning poster contest entry in the middle school division is from Rosemary Ottati, 11, who attends Iroquois Middle School in Niskayuna. She told us: “When I was drawing this poster I was thinking about all of the friends that I have now and all the friends I will have in the future. I just think that friendship makes you happy to have someone who understands you and likes you.”
